About
Blue Mountains Removals, a removalist team that knows the climb, covering Glenbrook to Mount Victoria.
Blue Mountains Removals is a local removalist team for the Blue Mountains, from Glenbrook at the eastern gateway up to Mount Victoria at the western edge. We know this corridor because we work it: the eleven villages strung along the ridge, the one main road that links them, and the way a move changes completely as you climb. We keep our claims honest, what we will tell you about access and timing is grounded in doing it, not in marketing.
A Blue Mountains move is a grade problem, not a distance problem. Glenbrook to Blackheath is only about fifty kilometres, but the land climbs from around 150 metres at the eastern gateway to over 1,000 metres at Blackheath, the highest town, and Mount Victoria, the westernmost village. That climb is the whole story. Escarpment blocks sit below the road, driveways drop away, streets are narrow winding ridge-lines or valley-edge lanes, and the higher you go the colder and foggier it gets. Up top the villages can sit near freezing on a winter morning. The kilometres rarely decide the day. The access, the carry, the grade and the weather do.
How we plan a mountains move
We plan access first, before anything else.
- The block and the carry. A house that looks level from the street can drop a storey out the back. We work out where the truck can safely sit and how far, and how steep, the carry to the door really is. On a big Faulconbridge bush block or a Leura valley-edge lane, that distance is the number that decides the time.
- The street. Narrow ridge streets and tight garden-estate lanes mean choosing the right truck size for the road, not the biggest by default. There is no removalist works-zone permit in the Blue Mountains, so it comes down to legal kerbside parking, good timing and knowing the street.
- The weather, up top. Around Blackheath and Mount Victoria we protect floors against wet and muddy boots, watch the footing on frosty driveways, and sometimes start a little later once the frost lifts.
- The one road up. With a single main artery along the ridge, we time the run around the corridor and any disruption, especially for upper-mountains and cross-pass moves.
What we do
We handle house, office and furniture removals, packing and unpacking, interstate moves and storage. Whether it is a single heavy item down a flight of external steps cut into a block that falls away below the road, or a full four-bedroom home on the escarpment rim, we bring the crew and the gear to do it carefully.
How we work
- Local knowledge first. We plan the truck, crew and timing around your street, your block and the climb.
- Fully insured. Your belongings are covered while we move them.
- Honest quotes. Clear pricing based on your actual move and its real access, with no surprises on the day.
- Careful with your home. We protect floors, doorframes and banisters as a matter of course, and we mind the cold and damp up top.
